FALL FASHION

FALL FASHION

The Summer is slowly coming to a close, witnessed by the fact that it is becoming a bit darker earlier with each passing night. While saying goodbye to the warm weather and the laid back vibe of summer is never easy, there is something about the return of crisp Fall weather that is so exciting. It always takes me back to the feeling as a kid when my siblings and I headed out with my mom to get our new pair of shoes for the school season ahead.

With this in mind, I want to share the top trends I am loving for Fall 2018 that you really need to consider adding to your wardrobe to spice things up and get you excited about leaving those summer frocks behind.

PLAID
Yep, good old Plaid was seen all over the Fall Runways and seemed to be channeling ‘90s fashion hero,
Cher Horowitz from Clueless. This time around Plaid is being shown in more saturated tones à la Cher in her iconic mustard color school uniform, “as if”.  It was shown plaid on plaid on plaid, different versions and colors all paired together in one outfit.

Be careful though, as Plaid can be a tricky trend to pull off and well, obviously it is not 1995 any more, so check out Fashion Tag Blog for some really sophisticated and modern ways to pull off this trend.

ANIMAL PRINT
This tried and true print will be coming at you like a ton of bricks once the Fall Fashion deliveries hit the stores.  So you may as well join the crowd, and add a new stand out piece like this leopard print coat from
Zara. I, personally, plan on picking up this coat pronto as it will be a perfect stand out piece to wear alone or as temperatures dip, a fab layering piece to round out any look.

WESTERN/PRAIRIE
Laura Ingalls called and she wants her dresses back. Coach 1941 has been responsible for single-handedly heralding this frontier look back in Fashion for the last several seasons and this Fall, other designers such as Calvin Klein, Isabel Marant and Chloe have joined the “literal” bandwagon.

Still not convinced you can pull this look off? Check out the latest looks from Coach on Selena Gomez for their Fall Campaign that will have you wanting some sort of “Western” garb to add to your closet.

MAGENTA
The most intense and saturated shade of pink should be on your check list of a color to definitely add to your wardrobe this season, as it literally took over the runway for Fall 2018 as the Hottest Color of the moment. Basically this is Millenium Pink’s Big Sister who just happens to be cooler and more sophisticated.

Here is a look at how some of the top designers incorporated this color into their looks this season.

Beyond the trends above, other noteworthy ideas to have on your radar are: Oversized Coats, Two Toned Color Blocking (think Magenta and Red), Colored Tights, Wide Belts, Rust and Chocolate Brown colors, Sunglass with Colored Lenses and Statements Bows to name just a few.

The good news for those who may be hesitant to trends that can be tricky or outdated after one season, I think this Fall, you will find it easy to up your wardrobe game to some key pieces that lean more classic than trendy while at the same time, making you look perfectly relevant for the chilly season ahead.
