What's O L D is new A G A I N: My spotlight on the legendary jewelry brand "Trifari"

Vintage jewelry is something I have been completely enamored with since I was a little girl. My maternal grandmother was a huge collector of costume (fashion) jewelry and I would spend hours trying on all her jewels from her amazing stash. One of the brands she had many pieces of was the brand, Trifari. This brand was founded around the turn of the century by an Italian immigrant, Gustavo Trifari, and is still one of the most highly coveted and collectible jewelry brands today.

You can imagine my absolute delight, when the team that is designing the latest incarnation of this brand, reached out to partner with me to share their latest collection, Taj Mahal, with all of you. The collection is gorgeous and super modern & chic, so for me, it was truly a no brainer.

I decided that I wanted to show you how to style their collection two ways. The obvious choice would be to wear it for a dressy occasion, because it has clear crystal stones, but the modern twist is that the setting color is opaque red. I thought that it would be cool to show you that this look could also be worn in a funky, casual way with a concert t-shirt like I did or a flannel button up. Which look is your favorite? For the photoshoot, my photographer (aka my Insta Husband) and I headed to The MET Cloisters for our location because I liked the idea of a spot that had an outdoor element coupled with a back drop of grand architecture. Also, it is just such a beautiful spot, especially this time of the year with all the leaf colors changing. Do check it out if you have never visited.

As my husband snapped away and passerby’s stopped and looked, I thought it was the usual people looking because they were curious with my crazy posing and wondering what I was doing. It turns out that people were actually stopping and asking me where this jewelry was from and how they could get it. This is literally a true story! I am so mad I didn’t video it happening.
